About Me
Inspired by Quincy from The Little Einsteins, Lucas began his musical journey on the drums before transitioning to the flute at age 10, a decision that has shaped his life ever since.
Lucas is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music Performance at the University of North Florida, where he studies with Gia Sastre. At UNF, he serves as the principal flutist of the UNF Symphony and performs with the UNF Flute Ensemble.
As a passionate musician, he contributes to worship services at South Point Baptist Church and volunteers at local nursing homes, sharing live performances of modern music. He also co-founded the flute duo Rootin’ Tootin’ Flutes, which has been featured at Calvary Christian Academy’s Silent Auctions.
In addition, Lucas is the founder and director of FLUTES4KIDS, a business dedicated to integrating 21st-century techniques into flute education. Through this initiative, he has commissioned modern works, including pieces by Nicole Chamberlain, to inspire the next generation of flutists.
